NICE TO MEET YOU,
I'm Elle, aka Aunty Kiki.
FUN, FABULOUS AND A FRIEND TO ALL
loved by lovers
Becoming a wedding celebrant was the best decision I made in my colourful career! I realised over time that I need two things to make my world go round - love and connection. I get access to both of those things during the "meeting and marrying" part of my job. Lucky gal! I am an extrovert for the most part, so connecting with people charges my batteries - it literally gives me life! I am also a sucker for a romance of any kind, and love a good storytelling session!
Here's to all of those stories left to be told - I can't wait to hear them, I can't wait to tell them and I can't wait to meet you!
If you're looking for a CFF (that's "Celebrant Friend Forever") - you've found her!
A DANCE DOWN MEMORY LANE
I spent the best part of my 20’s in gay bars, engaging in some self discovery, sharpening my tools of self expression.
I experimented with clothing (lycra catsuits, feather boas), adorned fabulous wigs and turbans and danced most nights and early mornings away with my beautiful, flamboyant friends.
The idea of becoming a celebrant came to life in Trash Alley at Arq, whilst catching my breath after hours of dancing - I was with friends, new and old, and everyone agreed it was a fabulous idea! My destiny had been determined!
Sadly, same sex marriage was not yet legal, and there was no way I was going to marry people unless I could marry EVERYONE.
This was the summer of 2013 and it wasn’t until 2017 that marriage equality became a thing. Far too long to wait in my opinion – it should never have been up for debate in the first place! LOVE IS LOVE and we need more of it in whatever shape or form it chooses to take!
Fast Forward to 2017
I am living my best life in New York city! I hear the news and am over the bloody moon - Australia has finally come to its senses!
I start the Cert IV in Celebrancy online in 2019 after moving to London and by January 2021, I became an official, officiant of LURVVVE - ready to marry folks Australia-wide!
Big love to the very talented photographers that captured the moments above: @capturedby_kate & Alice Mahran
